3-Minute Thesis & Research Symposium: Communicating Your Research In Brief, Clear and Relatable Terms Online
Communicating Your Research in Brief, Clear and Relatable Terms
In this interactive Zoom workshop, you'll be working to communicate your research to an audience in a way that avoids jargon or a prior knowledge of your subject.
The judging criteria for 3MT includes:
- Was the thesis topic, key results and research significance and outcomes communicated in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience?
- Did the speaker avoid scientific jargon, explain terminology and provide adequate background information to illustrate points?
Librarians from Miner Library (URMC) and River Campus Libraries will help you work out your goals, and you'll practice with other graduate students to hone this aspect of your presentation.
