Love Data: Exposing the Truth with CODED BIAS

Love Data: Exposing the Truth with CODED BIAS In-Person

Data and algorithms are an ever-present part of our current society. But, what happens if they possess bias? Join the River Campus Libraries for a viewing of the CODED BIAS documentary, which investigates widespread bias in algorithms, centered around the inability of facial recognition technologies to accurately detect darker-skinned faces or classify the faces of women. Nominated for and winner of numerous awards, this documentary explores the reality of a world where artificial intelligence is not neutral.

This events include light refreshments, a viewing of the complete 1 and a half hour documentary, and an optional discussion at the end.
