Voices of XR: Michael Nebeling In-Person / Online
Three Wishes for the Future of Always-on AR
Dr. Nebeling is an Associate Professor in the School of Information at the University of Michigan, where he leads the Information Interaction Lab. His lab investigates new methods, tools and technologies that enable users to interact with information in more natural and powerful ways, and also make it easier for designers to create more usable and effective user interfaces. Over the last few years, his lab's research focus has been on augmented, mixed reality, and virtual reality.
His talk will focus on how he became interested in XR, his perspectives on current approaches to designing for XR, and his vision for the future, offering a fresh perspective on the field.
This is a hybrid presentation, with the opportunity to attend in-person or via Zoom online.
The Voices of XR speaker series is made possible by Kathy McMorran Murray and the National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Traineeship (NRT) program as part of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Training in the Science, Technology, and Applications of Augmented and Virtual Reality at the University of Rochester (#1922591).
