Odyssey on Screen & In VR: Screening The Return (2024) with Ralph Fiennes & Juliette Binoche In-Person
Join us in Mary Ann Mavrinac Studio X (Carlson Library, First Floor) for an evening that connects Homer’s Odyssey to contemporary film and virtual reality.
Film Screening
Watch Ursula Meier’s The Return (2024), starring Ralph Fiennes as Odysseus and Juliette Binoche as Penelope. This modern retelling explores themes of loss, endurance, and homecoming. Pizza and beverages will be provided.
Optional VR Experience
Before, during, or after the screening, try Odyssey VR, a student-made project by Emmie Lin ’26 created in collaboration with Professor Nick Gresens. Step into Odysseus’s encounter with the Sirens, follow Circe’s clues, and navigate dangerous waters in this interactive reimagining of the epic.
