Love Data Week: Big Data: Scary, Scrupulous, Secretive? All Three? In-Person
Big data -along with machine learning, predictive analytics, and AI—is creating novel and thorny ethical dilemmas in our day-to-day lives. UR Librarian Bob Berkman will explore how perceived future threats of emerging digital technologies were depicted in the popular and prescient 2002 film Minority Report. We’ll discuss which worrisome technology trends did come to pass, which did not, and what are a few of the unanticipated data concerns not predicted but are now in fact changing our culture.
